In Luke 6: verses 46-49 Jesus is teaching us about a man who built his house upon the Rock and another man who built his house on top of the ground. When the storm came the house with the foundation dug down deep into the ground withstood the storm. The other house collapsed.
This is a story that we can easily relate to in the natural. You can almost see the stormy winds hitting these houses as we have seen many times on TV and on the internet showing vivid pictures from all over the world of various natural disasters caused by storms.
However, there is both a natural and a spiritual component taught by Jesus in these verses.
Isaiah 28: 12 vs.16 tells us that God placed a foundation stone in Jerusalem, a precious cornerstone that is safe to build on. Jesus was instructing us to build our lives on the foundation of His word and to be obedient to His teachings. He knew that this would be for our protection when assaults from the enemy came our way. Our relationship with Jesus would enable us to withstand the storms.
Since March 2019 until the present day, we have been dealing with an epic storm caused by the enemy through COVID 19. Fear has become the greatest weapon of the enemy ever since this pandemic started. Fear caused by the mainstream media and Government mandates has slowly but surely been robbing us of our freedoms. Our children and grandchildren have been subject to this assault by having to be constantly masked, given vaccines that are not warranted based on risk levels. They are not able to have a normal relationship with their friends or receive proper schooling.
There has been a major attack on the family unit. As men of God, we have the responsibility to protect our families, but we can’t do it alone. We need God’s help.
Psalm 12 vs. 1,2 asks us where does our help comes from? Then the psalmist proceeds to give us the answer. “Our help comes from the Lord, the maker of Heaven and earth.”
1st. Cor.15:57 is good news for us who are in Christ. This scripture tells us to give thanks to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Men, if we build our own lives and our families lives on the solid rock of Jesus Christ, we will have victory.
In conclusion it is imperative that we continually look to Jesus rather than spending time focusing on what the enemy is doing. Being informed is one thing but being paralyzed by fear is another. Let us not fear man or the enemy but trust Jesus Christ for our well being.
Choosing the right Foundation is vital to our well being.
